When you create your Broadcast, you will be able to choose or create a phone list to send to. This resource explains that process!

A. Choose an existing phone list:

• You can choose any list you’ve previously created in Switchboard – whether it be in the Broadcasts or Phone Lists page.

B. Create a new phone list by uploading a CSV:

• You can upload phone numbers into Switchboard. You also are able to bulk apply a label to your CSV uploads.
• You must have a column labeledphone_numberorcell to indicate to Switchboard which numbers to use for sending. Any additional columns you upload will be available for message customization.

C. Create a new phone list using your ActBlue data:

• You can use data directly from ActBlue to create phone lists.
• You are able to pull lists of:
  • Donation types – Mobile v. non-mobile donations; recurring v. non-recurring donations
  • Specific ActBlue forms – i.e. Landing Pages
  • Donor Location – Zip codes; States
  • Specific Refcodes
  • Donation Counts and Amounts (with min/max and optional date parameters) – Number of donations; Total donated; Highest donation; Average donation

D. Create a new phone list by combining or suppressing other lists:

• You can create a new custom phone list that includes all of the contacts in the list(s) you choose to include, and suppresses any contact in list(s) you'd like to suppress. You'll need to have uploaded all relevant phone lists before taking this step. You can upload one or more lists in option B above if needed, then come back here.

E. Create multiple new phone lists by splitting an existing list:

• You can create multiple segments from a list that already exists. This is great for A/B testing! You'll need to have uploaded all relevant phone lists before taking this step. If you haven’t uploaded the list you want to split yet, do that first under Option B: Create a New Phone List by Uploading a CSV and then come back here.

F. Create a new phone list from your organization’s contacts already in Switchboard

• You can create a new list by including and/or excluding contacts already in Switchboard based on label(s).
